Food has bean a part of life from the beginning of life and is
important to live. Here is some information of ancient Roman & Persian
foods:
Persian:
- The Persians were the first to make yogurt.
- They used yogurt as an antidote for Malaria and other
illnesses.
- The Persians had one of the oldest cuisines.
- Persian foods influenced the Romans and Greeks cuisine.
- The Persians are famous for their many formidable rice
dishes.
- They had an emphasis on herbs, lime, and saffron.
- The ancient Persians discovered that fat is bad for the kidneys,
liver, and arteries.
- Persians found out that the sour juices and vinegars of
fruit stop the excess fat from damaging the kidneys, livers, and
arteries.
Romans:
- The ancient Romans ate three meals a day.
- For breakfast bread and honey
- For lunch cold meat from the night before and fruit.
- Dinner was usually a big feast with eggs, fish, meat,
vegetables, and fruits.
- The ancient Romans laid on tables or couches and ate.
- They used olive oil instead of butter.
- They also used honey instead of sugar.
