Shelter

As you know today we live in large condos, apartments, and houses. As you can guess the ancient Romans and Persians needed a place to live and now I will tell you all you need to know about their shelter:

Roman:

  1. Romans lived in four sided houses called atriums.
  2. The more wealthy you were the more rooms you would have.
  3. Some houses had piping.
  4. Every house had a small shrine where little statues of goods were kept. These cabinets were called lariums.
  5. Wealthy Romans slept on beds.
  6. Rome was built beside the River Tiber in central Italy.
  7. The Romans recorded many things in stone, such as wars and other things.

Persians:

  1. Kings used lots of gold in their structures.
  2. Many big columns.
  3. Horses or cows at the top of the columns.
  4. Used lots of Persian rugs hanging from the ceiling.
  5. Used many different colors in their structures
  6. Lots of greenery around houses.
  7. Stairs were engineered so that horses carrying the king and his stuff would be able to climb up.
