Shelter
As you know today we live in large condos, apartments, and
houses. As you can guess the ancient Romans and Persians needed a place to live
and now I will tell you all you need to know about their shelter:
Roman:
- Romans lived in four sided houses called atriums.
- The more wealthy you were the more rooms you would have.
- Some houses had piping.
- Every house had a small shrine where little statues of
goods were kept. These cabinets were called lariums.
- Wealthy Romans slept on beds.
- Rome was built beside the River Tiber in central Italy.
- The Romans recorded many things in stone, such as wars and
other things.
Persians:
- Kings used lots of gold in their structures.
- Many big columns.
- Horses or cows at the top of the columns.
- Used lots of Persian rugs hanging from the ceiling.
- Used many different colors in their structures
- Lots of greenery around houses.
- Stairs were engineered so that horses carrying the king and
his stuff would be able to climb up.
