Persian arts and architecture is known worldwide because of its incredible patterns and ingenuity. It is a role model of many civilizations that follow the methods of making things like pottery, houses, Persian rugs, and etc.
Archaeologists have discovered many different things about Persia and the pre-Achaemenian people. There were excavations at Marlik and Hasanlu prove that during the Iron Age they made lots of pottery and especially gold!
Persepolis which was the kingdom during the Achaemenian times has one of the most famous architecturally sights on the face of the Earth, with columns that reached as high as 7 to 10 ft. high!
The Persians also made the "eyvan" which was a vaulted hall open at the front and closed at the back and the squinch roof by which the dome is supported!
The Persian carpet has no need for introduction, as it is everywhere recognized for its beautiful colors and patterns. It is the finest flooring aver to be devised by man! Hand-knotted from besi wool dyed with all natural materials, it is extremely durable and expensive. The unbroken tradition of carpet weaving gives it the classic look that lets it blend with any environment.
The ancient Persians were smart people like many other ancient civilizations but the every civilization has its own influence on different people and its own place in history. Some will be remembered for longer than others but I hope that the ancient Persians are remembered forever. Who knows? Maybe some day we ourselves could be known as an ancient civilization!
And to conclude this I want to say that you shouldn't underestimate any ancient civilization because you never know, the next building you see could be of Persian, or Roman, and even Aztec structure!
Time for the Ancient Roman Achievements.
